  • Smooth out the wrinkles before placing food or in a tray for an even coverage.

Wrapping Food

  • Position food in center and fold the edges firmly for a secure wrap.
  • Ensure tight folding for oil or moisture-heavy foods.
  • Consider features of the products to wrap food for maximum safety.

Baking & Cooking

  • Use high heat-resistant papers for cooking and baking.
  • Parchment paper for instance can withstand 220-230°C (428-446°F) which is suitable for such cooking purposes.
  • Avoid direct contact with open flames.

Serving & Presentation

  • Replace sheets between servings to have a clean and consistent appearance.
  • Avoid reusing the paper as it becomes prone to leakage or tearing.

Short-term Usage

  • Wrap the sheets securely for short-term storage.

Temperature & Safety Guidelines

This is an important factor that needs extra supervision. A wrong paper could cause serious damage to the food and to the brand’s safety and reputation.

A comprehensive guideline is provided below for consideration:

Category Guideline Notes
Direct Heat Exposure Avoid contact with open flames, heating coils, and grill surfaces (applicable for all food papers) Prevents fire risks, smoking, and burning
Heat Resistance Greaseproof, sandwich, burger, kraft, and fish and chip papers - low to moderate heat capability Parchment and heat-resistant papers - usable for temperature between 220-230°C (428-446°F) Not ideal for high-temperature baking, suitable for hot food wrapping and packaging
Suitable for baking, roasting, and steaming but direct heat contact is not recommended
Oven/Steamer Use Use only those paper marked as oven safe and heat-resistant Untreated grease and kraft proof and waxed papers shall not to be used in oven
Microwave Use Usually safe for low to mild heat exposure, waxed or coated papers are not suitable for microwave use Avoid using papers especially wax-coated in microwave unless marked safe
Reuse Safety Do not reuse greasy, brittle, or burnt papers Reusing sheet significantly lowers the performance quality and may get compromised on hygiene
Food-Contact Safety All paper types are non-toxic, globally certified food-safe, and sustainable Some papers may have received silicone or grease-resistant coatings, but all were food-grade and safe
General Precautions Not intended for ignition and combustion. Not edible as well Follow specific instructions for each paper type before use
Contamination Prevention Ensure paper is clean, dry, and odor free before use Store away from moisture, direct sunlight, strong-smelling foods, dust

Reuse & Disposal Guidelines

  • Single-use recommended after contact with grease, oil, moisture, and high heat. The resistant barrier loses its prime qualities after one use.
  • Only reuse if the paper remains in presentable condition and is clean, dry, and structurally intact.
  • Dispose of paper in regular waste, compostable variants can be discarded in organic and paper waste.
  • To prevent accidental ignition avoid using used papers near open flames or heat sources.

Storage Guidelines

  • Store in a clean, dry, and hygienic place away from any water source.
  • Keep sheets inside the original packaging to protect sheets from odor, dust, and contamination.
  • Avoid placing papers near humid areas, this can weaken and tear the papers.
  • Ensure the storage area is clean and food-safe.
  • Place in open space to avoid crumbling or wrinkling of paper.

Necessary Precautions

Do’s

  • Use appropriate paper considering your needs and food specifications.
