Pulp Preparation and Treatment

The pulp for the manufacturing of the deli paper is either derived from recycled paper materials or virgin wood fibres. The pulp is then washed, refined, and blended until the right consistency or required fibre strength and structure is not achieved. Furthermore, to increase and improve the paper performance additives are introduced. These may include binders for strength, food-safe whitening or coating agents, or sizing agents for grease and moisture resistance.

Sheet Processing

Pressing and Drying

For uniform thickness and smoothness the paper is initially pass through a series of press rollers, which also removes the excess water. Afterwards the paper is then dried through steam-heated cylinders.

Waxing and Coating

To make it perfect for wrapping burgers, sandwiches, and other oily food items the paper is coated with PE coating, wax coating, or a silicone layer. This improves the moisture barrier of the paper and substantially increases the heat tolerance and grease resistance.

Printing
